Description of God's Not Dead Event

God’s Not Dead is a dynamic multi-media presentation that examines the evidence for God from science, philosophy, and history. A God’s Not Dead Event aims to bring clear, current, and rational evidence in the discussion surrounding faith and science to students in a respectful and engaging format. The event uses a combination of media and live presenters, founded by Dr. Rice Broocks who brings a revolving cast of some of the world’s leading minds in science, medicine, academics, and culture. It is based on the best-selling book by the same title. After the presentation, there is an opportunity for Q&A with the audience.

Dr. Rice Broocks is a bestselling author of several books including the book “God’s Not Dead” that has been translated into 14 languages. He has spoken at universities in over 40 nations around the world.

Dr. Broocks works closely with a team of scientists, philosophers, and historians, that facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue between faith and science. One scientist will accompany Dr. Broocks for each presentation.

Consisting of two parts: presentation and Q&A, a GND event gives students the chance to engage with the presenters, national team, and other student leaders on campus, laying the foundations for common ground with those of other faiths and backgrounds. This format has been used at top-tier universities around the United States and the world. Some of our recent visits include:

United States:
-Massachusetts Institute of Technology
-University of California, Berkeley
-University of Wisconsin-Madison
-Vanderbilt University
-New York University
-University of Florida

International:
-Seoul National University (South Korea)
-University of the Philippines (Multiple branches)
-Imperial College (London)
-University of Iceland
-Charles Darwin University (Darwin, Australia)

The event is free and open to the public.

Event Requirements

  • Pick two to three potential dates for presentation
    • Dates should be given at least 2 months in advance, but must not be less than one month in advance
    • Evening times seem to be best (reserve room 5pm to 10pm or close), typical event starts at 7pm
    • Date must be approved by the GNDE before booking (this step is done first)

    • Mic requirements
      • Four wireless handheld mics for the emcee, Dr. Broocks, the guest scientist, and one extra for Q&A
      • If we have to choose because of a limited sound system setup, we would prefer two handheld wireless mics at a minimum, three would be ideal.
    • Two spotlights, one on each speaker. These can be individual spotlights in the back or stage lights from the ceiling to illuminate the speakers without washing out the screen. The speakers will be seated on the sides of the stage. Either the same side, or one on each side.
    • Have two bar-height chairs on stage, one on each side with a small table or stool next to each chair to hold the laptop and/or a water bottle.
